The Ultimate Kingshot Gear Upgrade Guide

Upgrading your Heroes’ Gear is one of the hardest things to manage in Kingshot. While it may not seem so for newer players, forging and enhancing Gear takes up a lot of resources that’ll only become more rare as you play and progress. Combine that with the rarer Heroes at that and it can become quite the challenge to upkeep. Instead of just investing everything into one or two Heroes, here’s a guide over how to best optimize your Gear enhancements for all your best Heroes.

⚔️ The Importance of Picking a Main Team

As mentioned before, picking your main team or March is the most important first step. Hero Gear can take up a ton of resources that could be used to upgrading your base instead. Enhancements and forging also become more expensive the more you play and harder to spread as you gain more Heroes. To remedy this, you’ll want to limit your main upgrades to no more than your top 3 most used Heroes.

You might be thinking that you’re weakening yourself by limiting where your Gear goes, but there’s several reasons why this strategy is recommended. For one, the Hero Gear you equip only takes effect during events like Bear Hunt or Castle battle. They will also be canceled out whenever you join someone else’s Rally. Knowing this, try keeping your Marches separate from those you bring into matches where Hero Gear doesn’t actually matter.

When making your prime March though, if you’re having trouble making one, you should have three main Gear builds. In your March, make sure you have at least one Infantry, Archer, and Cavalry Hero. With these three roles, you’ll want to make a Hero Gear build for each too. This is a good baseline to go off of when first forging and enhancing your Gear from here on out.

🛡️ Hero Gear Basics

When your Hero Gear does activate, they give some insanely helpful buffs that can really help you in battle and PVP matches. However, each part of a gear set has specific effects that specializes on certain stats. For example, Helmets and Boots often give Attack and Lethality buffs, while Chests and Gloves give more Defense and Health upgrades. There are also stats like Hero and Escort categories that are only really useful in certain scenarios, so you gotta read their fine prints carefully to understand what the Gear does.

But what Gear should you even upgrade first? To simplify this process for you, the first type of Gear you should prioritize is the Infantry Gloves and Chest. Infantry is all about Defense and tanking damage while still outputting big numbers on enemies. By investing in some good Chest and Glove gear and Health bonuses, your Infantry troops will stay alive longer and keep all enemies pushed back.

The other two Hero Gear pieces to prioritize are for Archer Lethality and Cavalry Lethality. While Infantry troops need more maximum Defense, Archers and Cavalry troops are primarily offensive. Min-maxing on all damage output stats is great for making them even more lethal when playing. Besides that, you can go ahead and invest the rest of your resources on their Health to balance them out as much as you want.

🔁 Enhancing & Forging

Now that you understand what every Hero Gear piece means for your Heroes’ stats, how do you actually improve them? To increase a piece of Gear’s Experience level, you can use Scrolls or use other Gear items that you don’t want. Depending on the Rarity of said Gear, the enhancement will go up in points by a set amount. However, don’t use any Gear of the purple rarity. Those are already hard to come by!

Then there’s Forging Hero Gear, which is only available for Mythic Gear past level 20. Doing so is called “Mastery Forgery,” which significantly boosts the base stats of the Gear piece more than regular enhancements. Every forgery done adds a star to the Mythic Gear, so this can be done multiple times if you have the Forgehammers for it.

However, there’s also Reforging, which works the opposite of Enhancements. If you have a bunch of upgraded Hero Gear that you don’t need anymore, remember to Reforge it! Doing so will let you get the resources you used back without letting it go to waste. Half of the Forgehammers used and all Enhancement Experience as Scrolls are given back. You can then immediately use said resources to upgrade another piece of Gear.

🔨 How to Get More Forgehammers & Scrolls

So how do you expect to get more Forgery and Enhancement materials? For Forgehammers, you can get them through a variety of ways. The main way for beginners is through the main quests and some dailies. However, as you progress, you grow stronger to complete Event quests to gain far more resources and Forgehammers. The same can be said for Enhancement materials and leftover Hero Gear that can be used for Experience levels.
